Job Description

XPO Logistics is seeking a dedicated Dispatch Assistant to support our operations at our Oakland hub. This entry-level role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to learn the fundamentals of dispatch, coordination, and customer service within a major logistics environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist dispatchers with daily communication to drivers, ensuring timely departures and arrivals.
- Monitor driver schedules and routes, reporting any delays or issues to senior dispatch staff.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and driver activities.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to email inquiries from drivers, customers, and internal teams.
- Help prepare and distribute dispatch documents, including manifests and route plans.
- Learn and utilize dispatch software systems for data entry and tracking.
- Support the general administrative needs of the dispatch office.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
