Job Description
Join AMN Healthcare as a Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and embark on an exciting journey providing essential patient care across various regional assignments. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, adhering to all established protocols and ensuring optimal patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including accurate medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal hygiene, and mobility as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, charting, and documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for all patients.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to medical emergencies, assisting with life-saving procedures as necessary.
- Adhere strictly to all facility policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements and standards of practice.
Required Skills
- Current and unrestricted LPN license in Colorado or a compact state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new healthcare environments and diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of previous experience as an LPN in an acute care, long-term care, or home health setting
- Previous travel nursing or contract experience
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Specialty certification relevant to areas like Gerontology, Palliative Care, or Med-Surg
