Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and passionate Sound Quality Tester to join our remote team, focusing exclusively on consumer electronics. This is a 100% remote position where you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest audio fidelity and user experience across a range of Apple products. You will be responsible for rigorously testing audio output, identifying imperfections, and providing detailed feedback to engineering teams. This role requires an exceptional ear for detail, a strong understanding of audio principles, and a commitment to delivering unparalleled sound quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive audio quality testing on pre-release consumer electronic devices (e.g., headphones, speakers, mobile devices).
- Identify, log, and meticulously describe audio defects, anomalies, and inconsistencies.
- Utilize a variety of testing methodologies and tools to evaluate sound reproduction, clarity, balance, and other acoustic properties.
- Collaborate closely with audio engineering and product development teams to communicate findings and verify fixes.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of audio testing protocols and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of testing activities and results.
- Provide constructive feedback on audio user experience from a listener's perspective.
- Stay informed about industry standards and emerging trends in audio technology and consumer electronics.
Required Skills
- Exceptional auditory perception and an acute ear for sound quality and defects.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle audio nuances.
- Basic understanding of audio concepts (e.g., frequency response, distortion, noise cancellation).
- Proficiency in using common audio playback devices and software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear defect reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a 100% remote environment.
- Familiarity with consumer electronics products and their typical audio performance.
