Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Social Media Comment Moderator to join our team on a part-time, 100% remote basis, with a focus on evening and weekend shifts. This role is crucial for maintaining a healthy and engaging online environment across our various social media platforms. You will be responsible for reviewing, moderating, and responding to user comments, ensuring compliance with established community guidelines and brand values. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to one of Canada’s largest media companies from anywhere within Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor user-generated content on Bell Media's diverse social media channels (e.g., Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok) during specified evening and weekend hours.
- Review and approve or reject comments and user posts based on a clear understanding of established community guidelines and content moderation policies.
- Identify and escalate problematic content, including but not limited to spam, inappropriate language, hate speech, misinformation, or potential threats, to relevant internal teams promptly.
- Engage with the online community in a positive, constructive, and respectful manner, responding to general inquiries, clarifying policies, and fostering healthy discussion where appropriate.
- Maintain a consistent and professional tone of voice in all online interactions, reflecting Bell Media's brand identity.
- Document all moderation actions, identified trends, and recurring issues for reporting and continuous improvement.
- Stay informed about current social media trends, platform changes, and best practices in online community management and content moderation.
Required Skills
- Excellent written communication skills in English, with a keen eye for grammar and tone.
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and online community dynamics.
- Ability to make sound, unbiased judgments quickly and efficiently, often under pressure.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to identify subtle nuances and contexts in online communication.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive or controversial information discreetly.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable, quiet home office environment for independent remote work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in social media moderation, online community management, or customer service roles.
- Familiarity with various content moderation tools and software platforms.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively without direct supervision.
