Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Banking Compliance Auditor to join our team in Land O’ Lakes, FL. In this secure professional environment, you will play a crucial role in ensuring Truist Bank adheres to all relevant banking laws, regulations, and internal policies. This position involves conducting comprehensive audits, identifying potential compliance risks, and recommending corrective actions to safeguard the bank’s reputation and operational integrity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial regulations, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining a robust compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc compliance audits of banking operations, including but not limited to retail banking, lending, and wealth management activities.
  • Assess the effectiveness of internal controls designed to ensure compliance with federal and state banking laws (e.g., BSA/AML, Reg E, Reg Z, CRA, Dodd-Frank).
  • Identify and document compliance deficiencies, control weaknesses, and potential areas of risk.
  • Develop and present clear, concise audit reports detailing findings, root causes, and recommended corrective actions to management.
  • Follow up on audit findings to ensure timely and effective implementation of remediation plans.
  • Stay current with changes in banking laws, regulations, and industry best practices to update audit methodologies and scope as necessary.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk management, and business units to provide compliance guidance and support.
  • Participate in special projects and investigations as required to support the bank's compliance objectives.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in banking compliance, internal audit, or risk management within a financial institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state banking regulations (e.g., BSA, AML, OFAC, Fair Lending, TILA, RESPA, CRA).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory issues clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, secure environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) software platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering compliance training programs.
