Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ramp Sorter to join our FedEx Express team in Aurora, Colorado. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the efficient and secure handling of packages and freight in a high-security ramp environment. This position involves sorting, loading, and unloading shipments, ensuring timely and accurate processing for onward distribution. Key Responsibilities
- Sort packages and freight according to destination and service type in a high-security ramp area.
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently from aircraft and vehicles.
- Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts and tuggers (training provided if needed).
- Inspect packages for damage and report any discrepancies or security concerns immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth and timely operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs regularly, and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must be able to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Excellent reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or airport operations environment.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
