Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Drum Teacher to inspire the next generation of drummers at our high-energy Brooklyn studio. This part-time role focuses on afternoon shifts, providing engaging instruction to students of varying skill levels. You’ll be part of a vibrant community dedicated to fostering musical talent through performance-based education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct engaging private and group drum lessons for students of all ages and skill levels.
  • Develop customized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and goals.
  • Prepare students for live performances, workshops, and recording sessions.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging, and high-energy learning environment.
  • Communicate student progress and challenges effectively with parents and staff.
  • Contribute to the overall studio atmosphere and community.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in various drumming styles (rock, jazz, funk, etc.).
  • Strong ability to read and teach drum notation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for music education and working with young people.
  • Ability to improvise and adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Performance or Music Education.
  • Previous experience teaching drums in a studio or school setting.
  • Experience with performance-based music education models.
  • Knowledge of music theory and harmony beyond drums.
