Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Drum Teacher to inspire the next generation of drummers at our high-energy Brooklyn studio. This part-time role focuses on afternoon shifts, providing engaging instruction to students of varying skill levels. You’ll be part of a vibrant community dedicated to fostering musical talent through performance-based education.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging private and group drum lessons for students of all ages and skill levels.
- Develop customized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and goals.
- Prepare students for live performances, workshops, and recording sessions.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and high-energy learning environment.
- Communicate student progress and challenges effectively with parents and staff.
- Contribute to the overall studio atmosphere and community.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in various drumming styles (rock, jazz, funk, etc.).
- Strong ability to read and teach drum notation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated passion for music education and working with young people.
- Ability to improvise and adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Performance or Music Education.
- Previous experience teaching drums in a studio or school setting.
- Experience with performance-based music education models.
- Knowledge of music theory and harmony beyond drums.
