Job Description
The Summer 2025 Engineering Intern program at ExxonMobil’s Houston Corporate Office offers an unparalleled opportunity for highly motivated students to gain hands-on experience in a leading energy company. Interns will work on challenging projects across various engineering disciplines, including chemical, mechanical, civil, electrical, and petroleum engineering. You will contribute to real-world solutions, support ongoing projects, and collaborate with experienced engineers and scientists, developing critical skills and professional networks. This program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the energy industry and a pathway to potential future careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in the design, development, and optimization of processes, systems, and equipment.
- Conduct data analysis, simulations, and modeling to support project objectives.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation of findings.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project reviews.
- Contribute to safety reviews and ensure adherence to company safety standards.
- Research and apply new technologies or methodologies to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of at least two years of relevant university coursework.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Previous project experience (academic or extracurricular) demonstrating engineering principles.
- Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., CAD, MATLAB, Aspen Hysys, Python, VBA).
- Leadership experience in student organizations or community activities.
