Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Night Shift Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a secure facility setting in Arvada, CO. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to patient care during overnight hours, with premium pay rates reflecting the critical nature of this shift. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations, ensuring timely and accurate medication dispensing, and maintaining a high standard of patient safety and quality control. This on-site position requires a commitment to working scheduled night shifts, demonstrating reliability and an ability to work independently while adhering to all pharmacy protocols and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, including sterile and non-sterile compounding.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies, ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Maintain accurate patient medication records and assist with prescription processing and insurance billing inquiries.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as Centura Health policies and procedures related to pharmacy practice and patient safety.
- Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment, including automated dispensing systems.
- Assist in quality assurance activities and participate in departmental continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Colorado Pharmacy Technician registration or eligibility.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and pharmacy software systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a hospital or secure facility setting.
- Experience with automated dispensing systems (e.g., Pyxis, Omnicell).
- Knowledge of sterile compounding techniques and USP 797/800 guidelines.
- Experience working night shifts in a healthcare environment.
