Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and vigilant Part-time High School Parking Attendant to manage parking operations during weekend evening events. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and efficient flow of traffic and parking for various school functions, including athletic events, performances, and community gatherings. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in an outdoor setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic during peak event times.
- Monitor parking areas to ensure authorized parking and adherence to school regulations.
- Provide assistance and directions to visitors regarding parking and event locations.
- Report any suspicious activities, parking violations, or security concerns to appropriate school personnel.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while interacting with students, staff, and guests.
- Assist with basic setup and breakdown of traffic cones or signs as needed.
- Ensure clear pathways for emergency vehicles.
- Work collaboratively with event staff and security teams.
- Enforce parking policies consistently and fairly.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Basic problem-solving abilities.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to undergo a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, customer service, or traffic management roles.
- Familiarity with the layout of local high schools or large event venues.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Valid driver's license.
- First Aid/CPR certification (desirable but not required).
