Are you a 14-year-old ready to take your first step into a leadership role? The YMCA of the Suncoast is seeking enthusiastic and responsible young individuals for our 14 Year Old Teens Camp Counselor Trainee program with a strong leadership focus. Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior camp counselors with daily camp activities and programs.
• Engage with campers (ages 5-12) under supervision, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
• Participate in training sessions focused on leadership, child safety, and program planning.
• Help organize and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, and outdoor activities.
• Support campers in adhering to camp rules and promoting good sportsmanship.
• Learn and practice effective communication techniques with campers, parents, and staff.
• Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized camp environment.
• Shadow experienced counselors to understand group management and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrate positive role modeling and enthusiasm throughout the camp day.
• Attend and actively participate in all staff meetings and debriefs.

• Must be 14 years old by the start of the camp season.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a camper at a YMCA or similar program.
