Job Description
As a UPS Tagger, you will play a crucial role in our fast-paced logistics operations, ensuring that packages are accurately identified, labeled, and prepared for their next stage of transit. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who are detail-oriented, reliable, and thrive in a dynamic warehouse environment. You will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the efficient flow of goods and helping us maintain our reputation for timely and accurate deliveries. This is an on-site position based at our Chesapeake facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately tag and label packages according to their destination and routing information.
- Scan incoming and outgoing packages using handheld devices.
- Sort packages onto appropriate conveyor belts or staging areas.
- Verify package information against shipping manifests.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Identify and report damaged packages or discrepancies to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret labels, manifests, and instructions accurately.
- Basic computer literacy for scanning equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar industrial setting.
- Familiarity with scanning technology.
