Job Description
Join LabCorp as a Medical Sample Courier, where you will play a crucial role in the healthcare supply chain by safely and efficiently transporting vital medical samples. This position is critical to our operations, ensuring that specimens reach our laboratories in optimal condition for timely processing and accurate diagnostics. We provide a company vehicle, comprehensive training, and a supportive environment for individuals dedicated to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism. A clean driving record is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company vehicle safely and efficiently to transport medical samples, supplies, and reports between various healthcare facilities, clinics, and laboratories.
- Adhere strictly to assigned routes and schedules, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain the integrity and security of all specimens during transit, following established protocols for temperature control, handling, and storage.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the company vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including manifests, delivery logs, and specimen tracking forms.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, laboratory staff, and client personnel.
- Comply with all traffic laws, company policies, and federal/state regulations, including HIPAA and biohazard safety guidelines.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an impeccable driving record (no major violations, accidents, or citations in the past 3-5 years).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a courier, preferably in a medical or logistics setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and specimen handling procedures.
- Customer service experience.
