Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and community-oriented City Recreation Center Supervisor to oversee the daily operations and programming of one of Concord’s key recreation centers. This pivotal role involves planning, organizing, and directing a wide range of recreational activities and services. The Supervisor will manage facility usage, ensure safety and cleanliness standards, supervise staff, and engage with the community to assess needs and enhance program offerings. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of a designated recreation center, including facility scheduling, maintenance, and opening/closing procedures.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate diverse recreational programs and activities for various age groups and interests.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate part-time staff, volunteers, and instructors.
- Ensure the safety of participants and staff by enforcing rules, regulations, and emergency procedures.
- Monitor and manage program budgets, including revenue generation and expense control.
- Collaborate with community groups, schools, and organizations to expand program reach and partnerships.
- Handle participant inquiries, registration processes, and conflict resolution.
- Prepare reports on program participation, facility usage, and operational performance.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, and coordinate necessary purchases.
- Promote recreation center programs and activities through various communication channels.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in recreation program planning, supervision, or facility management.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Valid California Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Leisure Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
- Experience with recreation management software (e.g., ActiveNet, RecTrac).
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
