Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Class A Day Cab Driver for local routes based out of our East Salinas facility. This is an outstanding opportunity for professional drivers who desire consistent daytime shifts and the benefit of being home every night. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods to various destinations within a defined local service area. Our drivers are the backbone of our operations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the high standards of customer service XPO Logistics is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A day cab tractor-trailer safely and efficiently on local routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned equipment and accurately complete all necessary paperwork.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of freight, adhering to scheduled routes and delivery windows.
- Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and customers.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Handle minor roadside adjustments and report mechanical issues promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of 24 months of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds frequently.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including some weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with dry van or reefer freight.
- Familiarity with the Salinas and surrounding Northern California areas.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Positive and professional attitude.
