Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and highly energetic Wellness Screening Nurse to join our team, specializing in corporate events. This pivotal role involves traveling to various corporate client locations within the Newark, NJ area and beyond to conduct on-site health screenings and provide basic health education. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, possess excellent clinical skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, interactive environment. You will be instrumental in promoting health awareness and empowering individuals to take charge of their well-being through engaging and informative screening experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health screenings including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and body mass index (BMI) measurements at corporate wellness events.
- Administer vaccinations (e.g., flu shots) and other preventative health services as required.
- Provide basic health education, counseling, and referrals to participants regarding their screening results and general wellness.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and detailed participant records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ensure a welcoming, positive, and efficient screening experience for all attendees.
- Collaborate effectively with event organizers, corporate clients, and internal teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Manage and maintain screening equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
- Adhere to all clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Represent Hackensack Meridian Health professionally and enthusiastically at all events.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in health screenings, urgent care, or a similar clinical setting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations.
- Demonstrated high energy, positive attitude, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Experience in corporate wellness, occupational health, or community health programs.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred) to effectively communicate with a broader audience.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and event schedules.
