Job Description
Are you a responsible 13-year-old with a passion for pets and a desire to earn some pocket money in your local area? Pets at Home is looking for enthusiastic and reliable young teens to join our community network as Dog Walkers. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience, stay active, and make new furry friends, all within safe and familiar local suburbs of Manchester. You will be responsible for providing companionship and exercise to dogs whose owners need a helping hand. This role emphasizes safety, local knowledge, and a genuine love for animals. Full guidance and support will be provided to ensure a safe and positive experience for both you and the dogs you care for.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely walk dogs in designated local suburban areas.
- Ensure the well-being and comfort of dogs during walks.
- Maintain open communication with pet owners (with parental supervision).
- Adhere to agreed-upon schedules for walks.
- Practice responsible pet waste disposal.
- Report any unusual behavior or concerns about the dog to the owner (with parental supervision).
Required Skills
- Must be 13 years old.
- Genuine love and respect for animals, especially dogs.
- Responsible and reliable demeanor.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Good communication skills (for interaction with pet owners, supervised).
- Familiarity with local suburban areas for safe walking routes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience caring for pets (e.g., family pets, neighbor's pets).
- Basic understanding of dog behavior and needs.
