Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Retail Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Ottawa. This role offers a flexible schedule with all shifts available, perfect for individuals looking for variety and a dynamic work environment. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists, ensuring efficient pharmacy operations, and providing excellent customer service. You will assist in dispensing prescriptions, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy setting. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, accurately and efficiently.
  • Process prescription orders, including data entry, packaging, and labeling, in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and escalating complex issues to the pharmacist.
  • Maintain patient profiles and ensure confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Perform general pharmacy duties such as cleaning work areas, organizing shelves, and managing expired medications.
  • Operate pharmacy software and point-of-sale systems with proficiency.

Required Skills

  • Pharmacy Technician certification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and pharmacy software.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug names.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
  • Experience with Kroll pharmacy software.
  • Additional training or certifications in pharmacy services.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset.
