Job Description

Join Microsoft’s innovative AI team as an AI Interaction Coach, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the emotional intelligence and empathetic responses of our next-generation chatbots. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and annotate large datasets of conversational text to identify nuances in human emotion, intent, and context.
  • Develop and refine guidelines for AI responses that prioritize empathy, clarity, and user satisfaction.
  • Provide actionable feedback to AI models and engineering teams to improve conversational design and AI behavior.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and research, to integrate empathetic AI interactions into new and existing products.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on chatbot interactions to ensure adherence to established empathetic communication standards.
  • Stay updated on best practices in conversational AI, natural language understanding, and ethical AI development.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to ideate innovative ways for AI to demonstrate understanding and compassion.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with an eye for subtle details in language.
  • Demonstrated understanding of human psychology, communication patterns, and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Proficiency in using digital annotation tools and comfortable with data-driven decision making.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Psychology, Communications, Creative Writing, UX Design, or a related field.
  • Experience in natural language processing (NLP), data annotation, content moderation, or technical writing.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and chatbot platforms.
  • Experience in user research or user experience design principles.
  • A portfolio demonstrating writing or analytical skills related to human interaction.
