Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Commercial Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our large-scale agricultural facility in New Braunfels, Texas. This critical role involves managing all aspects of farm production, including crop management, livestock care, equipment maintenance, and staff supervision. The successful candidate will be instrumental in optimizing productivity, ensuring quality standards, and implementing sustainable farming practices. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily farm operations, including planting, harvesting, irrigation, and pest control.
- Manage livestock health, feeding, and breeding programs if applicable to specific farm operations.
- Supervise and train farm staff, including scheduling, performance reviews, and safety protocols.
- Monitor and maintain farm equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and manage farm budgets, track expenses, and optimize resource allocation.
- Analyze production data and implement strategies to improve yields and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and relevant agricultural laws and standards.
- Collaborate with agronomists, veterinarians, and other specialists to enhance farm productivity and sustainability.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in commercial farm management.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, including crop rotation, soil management, and pest control.
- Experience with farm machinery operation and maintenance.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
- Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to sustainable farming practices.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, or a related field.
- Experience with large-scale poultry or crop production.
- Familiarity with agricultural software and technology.
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are a plus.
