Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly efficient Digital Media Typist with a strong focus on social media and video content to join our team in Newport, RI. In this role, you will play a crucial part in preparing and organizing textual content for various digital platforms, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery. This includes transcribing audio/video, creating captions, tagging content, and preparing copy for social media posts, articles, and video descriptions. The ideal candidate will have excellent typing speed and accuracy, a keen eye for detail, and a foundational understanding of digital media and social platform requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio and video content accurately and efficiently for various Condé Nast brands.
- Generate precise captions, subtitles, and closed captions for video productions across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Prepare and format text content for social media posts, including Twitter threads, Facebook updates, and Instagram captions, ensuring brand voice and character limits are met.
- Assist in tagging and categorizing digital assets and content for improved discoverability and SEO.
- Review and proofread all transcribed and typed content for grammatical errors, typos, and factual inaccuracies.
- Collaborate with video producers, social media managers, and editorial teams to ensure content alignment and timely publication.
- Manage and organize digital text files, ensuring proper version control and archiving.
- Stay updated on social media platform changes and best practices related to textual content.
Required Skills
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) and accuracy.
- Proficiency in transcription software and tools.
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Demonstrable experience with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, Facebook).
- Familiarity with video content formats and requirements for digital distribution.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) or Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Media Studies, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Experience working in a digital media, publishing, or marketing agency environment.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles for content optimization.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
- Experience with basic video editing software for caption integration (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
