Job Description
Are you a true expert in American football analysis with a passion for the Madden NFL franchise? Electronic Arts (EA Sports) is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented EA Sports Madden Scout with a primary focus on Performance Evaluation. In this unique role, you will leverage your deep understanding of football strategy, player mechanics, and statistical analysis to inform the development and refinement of player ratings, team schemes, and in-game performance logic for future Madden NFL titles. This position requires a blend of real-world football acumen and a critical eye for how those dynamics translate into a virtual environment. You will work closely with development teams, designers, and data scientists to ensure an authentic and dynamic player experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of real-world NFL player performance, college prospects, and team schemes.
- Translate complex football performance data into actionable insights for Madden NFL player ratings and gameplay mechanics.
- Evaluate existing Madden NFL player attributes and team strategies, providing recommendations for improvements based on current NFL trends and analytics.
- Collaborate with game designers and engineers to implement and test performance-related updates and features.
- Monitor NFL games, news, and scouting reports to identify emerging talent and strategic shifts relevant to Madden NFL.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive player and team profiles, utilizing a variety of data sources.
- Participate in regular team meetings, presenting findings and contributing to strategic discussions for game development.
- Provide detailed feedback on game builds, specifically focusing on player behavior, AI, and overall authenticity of performance.
Required Skills
- Extensive knowledge of American football, including player positions, schemes, strategies, and analytics.
- Proven experience in performance analysis, sports scouting, or equivalent analytical roles (e.g., fantasy football analysis at a professional level, sports journalism with a focus on deep analysis).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear, concise insights.
- Familiarity with the Madden NFL franchise and a critical understanding of its gameplay mechanics and player rating systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information effectively.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., spreadsheets, statistical software).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
