Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Flatbed Driver to join our team in Round Rock, TX. As a Flatbed Driver for FedEx Freight, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of various freight types, ensuring secure loads and timely deliveries. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles with flatbed trailers safely and efficiently.
- Securely load and unload freight, including proper tarping and securement according to DOT regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections on equipment and cargo.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of cargo, hours of service, and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Represent FedEx Freight with professionalism and a commitment to customer service.
- Ensure timely delivery of freight while adhering to scheduled routes.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of verifiable flatbed driving experience
- Proficiency in tarping and securing various types of freight
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with flatbed driving, including climbing, lifting, and tarping
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
