Job Description
Are you looking for a flexible way to earn money on your own schedule? Deliveroo is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Food Delivery Drivers to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who own a scooter, motorbike, or car and want to make the most of their time, delivering delicious food from local restaurants and shops directly to customers’ doors. With immediate start available and flexible hours, you can fit this work around your existing commitments, whether you’re a student, a freelancer, or just looking for extra income. You’ll be working as a self-employed contractor, giving you the freedom to choose when and how often you work. All you need is a reliable vehicle, a smartphone, and a passion for providing great service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver food orders from various restaurants and stores to customers' specified locations within Barrow-in-Furness.
- Manage delivery routes efficiently using the Deliveroo app to ensure timely deliveries.
- Handle food items with care, ensuring they arrive in excellent condition.
- Communicate effectively and politely with restaurant staff, customers, and Deliveroo support when necessary.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Maintain your delivery vehicle in good working order.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving licence for the vehicle you intend to use (car, motorbike, or scooter).
- Own a reliable scooter, motorbike, or car with valid insurance (including Hire & Reward insurance).
- A smartphone (iOS or Android) with data plan for using the Deliveroo app.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery driving or a customer service role is a plus, but not required.
- Good knowledge of the Barrow-in-Furness area and surrounding neighbourhoods.
