Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to kickstart a career in a dynamic warehouse environment? Cargill is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as a Forklift Spotter / Safety Assistant. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to safety, and excellent communication skills. No prior forklift license is required – we will provide comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure you succeed in this crucial role. You will play a vital part in maintaining a safe working environment and supporting our material handling operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a dedicated spotter for forklift operators, providing clear and concise guidance during material movement, loading, and unloading activities.
- Monitor designated work areas for pedestrian and vehicle traffic, identifying potential hazards and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Communicate effectively with forklift operators, team members, and supervisors to coordinate movements and prevent accidents.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, including identifying and reporting any spills, obstructions, or unsafe conditions.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and adherence to company safety standards.
- Perform pre-shift safety checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or defects immediately.
- Support general warehouse operations as needed, contributing to overall team efficiency and productivity.
