Job Description
Are you passionate about safety and looking to start a career in the dynamic oil and gas industry? Schlumberger (SLB) is seeking a motivated Junior Oilfield Safety Aide to join our team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals with a strong desire to learn, as comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a crucial role in supporting our safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, and promoting a culture of safety across our operations. This position offers the flexibility of working from home, allowing you to contribute to critical safety functions remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of HSE policies and procedures.
- Support the preparation of safety reports, incident logs, and compliance documentation.
- Participate in virtual safety meetings and training sessions.
- Conduct research on best practices in oilfield safety and regulatory updates.
- Help maintain safety data sheets (SDS) and other critical safety information.
- Communicate safety guidelines and information to relevant personnel as directed.
- Monitor and track safety performance metrics.
- Collaborate with senior safety officers on various safety projects and initiatives.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- A strong commitment to safety and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety).
- Basic understanding of oil and gas industry terminology.
- Prior experience in an administrative or data entry role.
- Familiarity with remote collaboration tools.
