Job Description
Are you an experienced truck driver ready to take the wheel of your own business? Knight-Swift Transportation is offering an exceptional Lease Purchase program for dedicated Lease Purchase Truck Drivers. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently in compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Plan and execute optimal routes for timely and secure delivery of freight.
- Manage logbooks, expenses, and other business-related documentation accurately.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and maintenance support.
- Adhere to scheduled pick-up and delivery times.
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance representing Knight-Swift.
- Actively manage fuel efficiency and operational costs to maximize profitability.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable over-the-road (OTR) driving experience
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and satisfactory safety record
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and Hours of Service (HOS)
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- A commitment to safety and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a lease-purchase or owner-operator role
- HazMat and Tanker endorsements
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and navigation systems
- Strong business acumen and a desire for independence
- Ability to perform minor roadside repairs
