Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Loading Dock Operative to join our team in Rancho Cucamonga. This role involves the efficient and safe handling of freight, including significant heavy lifting, on our busy loading docks. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, scanning packages, organizing inventory, and ensuring all shipments are processed accurately and on schedule. Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently load and unload freight from trailers and containers using manual and mechanical equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks).
  • Perform heavy lifting of packages and cargo, often weighing up to 75 lbs, and maneuver heavier items with assistance.
  • Scan and sort packages accurately, ensuring proper placement and documentation.
  • Inspect freight for damage and report discrepancies immediately.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and according to company guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area on the loading dock.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely processing of shipments.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently (up to 75 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Proven physical stamina and endurance.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling freight.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels and count packages.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all procedures.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, loading dock, or logistics environment.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
