Job Description

Microsoft is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Microsoft Legal Inquiry Evaluator with a strong focus on legal technology to join our remote team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing, evaluating, and processing legal inquiries and data requests, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Leveraging cutting-edge legal tech tools, you will contribute to efficient and accurate responses, supporting various legal functions across the organization. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a global leader from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret complex legal inquiries and data requests, including subpoenas, warrants, and regulatory demands.
  • Utilize legal technology platforms and tools to manage cases, track progress, and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with internal legal counsel, privacy teams, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely responses.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to gather necessary information and evidence.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation of all inquiries and actions taken.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the legal inquiry workflow.
  • Stay abreast of relevant legal and regulatory changes impacting data privacy and legal compliance.
  • Educate internal teams on legal inquiry processes and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal, compliance, or privacy-related role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with legal technology tools, e-discovery platforms, or case management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and legal compliance principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Certification in legal tech, data privacy (e.g., CIPP/US), or compliance.
  • Experience working in a large, multinational corporation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem and Azure cloud services.
  • Project management skills with a focus on legal operations.
