Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Microsoft Project Coordinator with a strong business focus to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution and tracking of various projects across different business units. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in Microsoft Project to develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, resources, and budgets, while also understanding the broader business implications of project activities. You will work closely with project managers, stakeholders, and teams nationwide to facilitate communication, manage documentation, and provide actionable insights. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets using Microsoft Project.
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and report potential risks to project managers and stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, business units, and external vendors.
- Prepare and distribute project reports, status updates, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage project documentation, including change requests, meeting minutes, and action item logs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of project management best practices and methodologies.
- Support project managers in resource allocation, task assignments, and dependency management.
- Track project expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Conduct data analysis to provide insights into project performance and areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project (creating schedules, resource loading, tracking progress)
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Superior communication and interpersonal abilities
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or CAPM certification
- Experience with other project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana)
- Previous experience in a consulting environment
- Familiarity with agile methodologies
