Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Music Technology Tutor with a strong focus on Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and other music software. This is a 100% remote, part-time position where you will guide students of all levels through the intricacies of modern music production. You will provide personalized instruction, develop engaging lesson plans, and help students master the tools and techniques essential for creating compelling music. Ideal candidates will possess expert-level proficiency in multiple DAWs, a deep understanding of music theory and sound design, and a genuine desire to educate and inspire.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group online tutoring sessions, specializing in DAW operation (e.g., Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio) and various music production software.
- Develop and deliver customized lesson plans tailored to student needs, skill levels, and learning objectives.
- Offer constructive feedback on student projects, guiding them through mixing, mastering, sound design, and arrangement.
- Stay current with the latest updates in music technology, software, and production techniques.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, offering encouragement and support throughout their learning journey.
- Contribute to the development of educational content and resources, as needed.
Required Skills
- Expert proficiency in at least two major DAWs (e.g., Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Cubase).
- Comprehensive understanding of music theory, composition, arrangement, mixing, and basic mastering principles.
- Strong command of sound design principles and proficiency with virtual instruments and effects plugins.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and pedagogical skills, with a proven ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring in music technology or related fields.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable home studio environment for remote instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Production, Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field.
- Ableton Certified Trainer status or equivalent certification in other DAWs.
- Experience with curriculum development and creating educational materials.
- Proficiency in advanced music software and techniques (e.g., Max for Live, modular synthesis, coding for music).
- Portfolio demonstrating personal music production work.
