Job Description
As a Pinterest Search Quality Analyst with a Google/Bing focus, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and improving the relevance and quality of search results across our platforms, specifically in how they relate to data and insights from leading search engines like Google and Bing. You will analyze user behavior, identify patterns, and provide actionable feedback to enhance the search experience for Pinterest users. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of search engine optimization principles and user intent in a visual discovery context.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth analysis of search queries and results on Pinterest, evaluating relevance, accuracy, and overall quality.
- Benchmark Pinterest search performance against Google and Bing search results for comparable queries.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in search data to uncover areas for improvement.
- Provide detailed, structured feedback to engineering and product teams to drive search quality enhancements.
- Develop and refine guidelines for search evaluation based on evolving user needs and platform capabilities.
- Stay current with industry best practices in search engine algorithms and search quality evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and data scientists, to implement improvements.
- Participate in A/B tests and provide qualitative assessments of experimental search features.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Linguistics, Data Science, Marketing).
- 2+ years of experience in search quality analysis, SEO, or a similar analytical role.
- Proven understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and user intent, particularly for Google and Bing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate findings clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python for data manipulation).
- Experience with A/B testing and statistical analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a quantitative or related field.
- Experience with visual search platforms or image recognition technologies.
- Familiarity with Pinterest platform and user behavior.
