Job Description
Bank of America is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Online Compliance Officer to join our team, specifically focusing on regulatory compliance related to our online interactions and services involving 18-year-old teens. In this crucial hybrid role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all digital platforms, content, and communications adhere to relevant financial regulations, consumer protection laws, and internal policies concerning this specific demographic. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential compliance risks, developing robust mitigation strategies, and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in our online environment. You will play a vital role in safeguarding our young adult clients and maintaining our reputation for trustworthiness and regulatory excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor online platforms, content, and digital communications to ensure compliance with financial regulations (e.g., privacy, marketing, product disclosures) applicable to 18-year-old clients.
- Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures specifically tailored for interactions with young adult clients in the online space.
- Conduct regular risk assessments of online activities and digital products targeting or accessed by 18-year-olds to identify potential compliance gaps.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to marketing, product development, and customer service teams on regulatory requirements affecting young adult online engagement.
- Investigate and respond to compliance inquiries, incidents, and potential breaches, recommending corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory affairs teams to stay abreast of evolving laws and regulations relevant to online financial services and youth protection.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management, highlighting key findings, risks, and recommended actions.
- Design and deliver training programs for employees on best practices for online engagement with 18-year-old clients and specific regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of financial services regulations and consumer protection laws (e.g., GLBA, CCPA, UDAAP), especially as they apply to online interactions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and compliance monitoring techniques.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex regulations clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in compliance (e.g., CRCM, CAMS).
- Experience with digital compliance tools and software.
- Knowledge of youth protection frameworks (e.g., COPPA, GDPR if applicable to international operations).
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
- Experience working directly with online platforms or digital product compliance.
