Job Description
Join BrightView as an Outdoor Timber Oiler, focusing on maintenance gigs to preserve and enhance the natural beauty and longevity of timber structures across various properties. This role involves the meticulous preparation and application of timber oils, stains, and protective coatings to decks, fences, pergolas, and other exterior wood surfaces. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of our clients’ outdoor assets. We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on every project.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare timber surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and making minor repairs as needed.
- Carefully apply timber oils, stains, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
- Ensure even and consistent application to achieve desired finish and protection.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect treated surfaces for quality, completeness, and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment regularly.
- Manage and organize materials and supplies efficiently on job sites.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress and challenges.
- Travel to various client locations within the Pasco, WA area.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures for working with chemicals and power tools.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in timber treatment, painting, landscaping, or general outdoor maintenance.
- Knowledge of different types of timber oils, stains, and their application methods.
- Experience with power washing and surface preparation equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with Pasco, WA and surrounding areas.
