Job Description

Join PepsiCo as a Palletizer Operator with an emphasis on Automation Support. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining automated palletizing equipment, ensuring the efficient and accurate stacking of products for shipment. You will monitor machine performance, conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot minor issues, and collaborate with maintenance teams on more complex repairs. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and a proactive approach to maintaining operational uptime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust automated palletizing machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform routine checks, inspections, and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical or electrical issues, performing basic repairs as needed.
  • Load raw materials, such as pallets and slip sheets, into the palletizing system.
  • Monitor product flow and quality, rectifying any deviations from standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records and logs, documenting machine performance and downtime.
  • Collaborate with production, quality control, and maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and safety.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with automated machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and system monitoring.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a technical field or related certification.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled systems or industrial automation.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial trucks.
  • Previous experience as a Palletizer Operator or Machine Operator.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
