Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented high school student looking for a flexible part-time job that fits your weekend schedule? Walmart is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Part-time High School Inventory Counters with a focus on weekend retail operations. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring our shelves are stocked, and contributing to the smooth operation of our store. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a fast-paced retail environment, develop organizational skills, and learn the fundamentals of inventory management. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately count and reconcile merchandise in designated departments.
- Utilize handheld scanners and other inventory tools to record stock levels.
- Identify discrepancies and report them to supervisors for resolution.
- Assist with organizing and tidying inventory areas to ensure accessibility.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient inventory processes.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding inventory control and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in high school.
- Ability to work primarily on weekends (Friday evenings, Saturdays, and/or Sundays).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from the store location.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail environment (even volunteer work).
- Familiarity with inventory systems or handheld scanners.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
