Job Description
Join Banner Health as an entry-level Patient Care Tech (PCT) in a hospital-based Home Health Aide (HHA) role. This position is perfect for compassionate individuals eager to start a career in healthcare, providing direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. You will play a vital role in supporting our patients’ daily needs, ensuring their comfort, and contributing to a positive recovery environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake, and output, reporting any changes or concerns to nursing staff.
- Help patients with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Assist with patient transfers and ambulation using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a strong desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Must be able to lift and move patients safely with assistance.
- Willingness to learn and commit to ongoing training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a caregiving role (e.g., family caregiver, volunteer).
- Enrollment in a nursing or healthcare-related program.
