Job Description
As a Pinterest Environmental Aide with a Green Tech focus, you will be instrumental in supporting our sustainability programs and initiatives. This entry-level role involves hands-on support for green technology implementation, waste reduction efforts, energy efficiency monitoring, and overall environmental stewardship within our facilities. You will work closely with our facilities and sustainability teams to ensure our operations align with our environmental goals and contribute to a healthier planet. This is an on-site position based in Fontana, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of green technology solutions (e.g., smart energy systems, water-saving devices).
- Support waste management programs, including recycling, composting, and responsible disposal of electronic waste.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for environmental improvement and resource conservation.
- Collect and log data related to environmental metrics, such as energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation.
- Help organize and participate in internal sustainability awareness campaigns and events.
- Maintain inventory of green supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with environmental policies and regulations.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on environmental equipment as directed.
Required Skills
- Strong interest in environmental sustainability and green technologies.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Google Workspace, data entry).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, standing, walking, and bending.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some coursework or volunteer experience in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
- Familiarity with waste sorting procedures and recycling best practices.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Certification in an environmental-related area is a plus.
