Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QC Instrumentation Chemist to join our Quality Control team in Mobile, Alabama. This role offers expert-level training opportunities to enhance your skills in analytical instrumentation, method development, and troubleshooting. You will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine analysis using a variety of sophisticated laboratory instruments to ensure the quality and purity of our chemical products. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of quality, supporting production, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within our state-of-the-art facility. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex chemical analyses using various analytical instruments (e.g., GC, HPLC, ICP-OES, FTIR, UV-Vis, Karl Fischer) according to established SOPs.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Interpret and analyze data, troubleshoot instrumentation issues, and perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Document all analytical results accurately and meticulously, ensuring compliance with cGMP, ISO, and internal quality standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to support product development and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for out-of-specification results and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Stay current with industry best practices, new analytical technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes, safety protocols, and quality systems.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Quality Control or analytical laboratory setting, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting common analytical instruments (GC, HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis).
  • Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles and statistical data analysis.
  • Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and chromatographic data systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience with ICP-OES/MS, XRF, or other advanced spectroscopic techniques.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, GLP, ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience in method validation and transfer.
  • Prior experience with method development for new products.
