Job Description
BrightStar Care is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Respite Care Aide. This is a vital role focused on providing temporary relief for family caregivers, offering them a much-needed break while ensuring their loved ones receive high-quality, attentive care. As a Respite Care Aide, you will provide essential support to clients in their homes, primarily during weekend hours. Your work will directly contribute to improving the quality of life for both clients and their primary caregivers, allowing families to recharge and maintain their well-being. We are looking for an immediate hire to fill these casual weekend shifts in the Anaheim area.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and engaging activities for clients.
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming (if required and within scope).
- Help with light household tasks, such as meal preparation and tidying common areas.
- Administer medication reminders as per care plan.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the client.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Maintain clear and timely documentation of care provided.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and adhere to safety protocols
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving, either professional or personal
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification is a plus
