Job Description
Join Lowe’s as a Part-Time Shelf & Hook Fitter – Handyman Support, focusing on local gigs within our Fontana, CA stores. This role involves maintaining and optimizing the visual merchandising of our product displays, ensuring shelves are properly fitted, hooks are securely installed, and general handyman tasks are completed to keep our stores running smoothly. You’ll be crucial in creating an organized and appealing shopping environment for our customers, tackling various installation, repair, and maintenance projects directly on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, adjust, and repair shelving units, racks, and display fixtures according to merchandising standards.
- Securely install and maintain various types of hooks and display accessories for merchandise presentation.
- Perform general handyman duties including minor repairs, assembly of store furniture/fixtures, and light maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all installations meet safety standards and visual merchandising guidelines.
- Collaborate with store teams to identify and address fitting or repair needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing tools and materials.
- Manage and prioritize multiple small projects efficiently to support store operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with various hand and power tools.
- Basic carpentry and general repair skills.
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams or instructions for assembly and installation projects.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation for local assignments within Fontana, CA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail merchandising or facilities maintenance.
- Knowledge of various shelving systems and display hardware.
- Certification in a relevant trade (e.g., carpentry, general maintenance).
