Job Description

UPS is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical UPS Knowledge Graph Associate with a strong data focus to join our innovative team. This 100% remote position will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing our knowledge graph capabilities, transforming complex data into actionable insights for various business units. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data structures, semantic web technologies, and a proven ability to work with large datasets. You will contribute to projects that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and strategic decision-making across UPS’s global network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain UPS's knowledge graph, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into the knowledge graph framework.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into robust graph models.
  • Perform complex data analysis and visualization to identify patterns, relationships, and anomalies within the knowledge graph.
  • Develop and implement efficient semantic queries (e.g., SPARQL) to retrieve specific information and generate actionable insights.
  • Support the integration of the knowledge graph with other enterprise systems and applications to maximize its utility.
  • Contribute to documentation, best practices, and knowledge sharing within the data team.
  • Monitor knowledge graph performance and optimize for scalability, efficiency, and real-time processing.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in knowledge graph technologies (e.g., RDF, OWL, SPARQL, Neo4j, GraphDB).
  • Strong experience with data modeling, database design, and ETL processes.
  • Expertise in a programming language such as Python or Java for data manipulation and automation.
  • Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for data storage and processing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience in the logistics or supply chain industry.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts applied to graph data.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) for large-scale data processing.
  • Project management experience in an Agile development environment.
