Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and meticulous UPS Metadata Pro to join our dynamic team in Orem, Utah. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of our extensive data assets. As a Metadata Pro, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining metadata standards and processes across various systems. Your expertise will directly impact data governance, discovery, and overall data quality, contributing significantly to our operational efficiency and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce metadata standards, policies, and procedures.
- Manage the metadata repository, ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with data stewards, IT teams, and business units to define and capture metadata requirements.
- Perform data profiling and analysis to identify metadata quality issues and recommend solutions.
- Design and maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data lineage documentation.
- Support data governance initiatives by ensuring adherence to metadata best practices.
- Provide training and support to users on metadata tools and concepts.
- Monitor and report on metadata quality metrics and compliance.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or metadata management.
- Proficiency with metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL processes.
- Expertise in SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry.
- Certifications in data management (e.g., CDMP).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
