Job Description
XPO Logistics is seeking dedicated and reliable Weekend Warrior Truckers to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. This role is perfect for drivers looking to maximize their earning potential with premium pay rates on Saturdays and Sundays. As a Weekend Warrior, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods across designated routes, ensuring timely delivery and upholding our high standards of service. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT guidelines.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of freight to various destinations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and vehicle records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, and issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Proven ability to operate a commercial truck safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and hours of service rules.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 24 months (2 years) of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience.
- Experience with dry van or refrigerated freight.
- HazMat endorsement (preferred, but not required).
- Familiarity with local and regional routes in Florida.
