Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Weight Loss Clinic Nurse, specializing in Nutrition & Wellness. This role is crucial in supporting our patients on their journey to better health through comprehensive weight management programs. You will be responsible for providing direct patient care, education, and support in a clinic setting, focusing on individualized nutrition plans and wellness strategies. We seek a compassionate and knowledgeable nurse who is passionate about preventive health and helping patients achieve sustainable lifestyle changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient assessments, including health history, current lifestyle, and weight-related challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans focusing on nutrition, exercise, and behavioral modifications for weight loss.
- Provide patient education on healthy eating habits, portion control, metabolism, and the role of physical activity.
- Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Administer medications and perform medical procedures as required within the scope of practice.
- Collaborate with dietitians, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Offer ongoing support and motivation to patients, addressing their concerns and celebrating their successes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Required Skills
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a primary care, internal medicine, or wellness setting.
- Strong understanding of nutrition principles and weight management strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience in weight loss clinics or bariatric care.
- Certification in Bariatric Nursing (CBN) or Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE).
- Fluency in Spanish or other languages.
