Job Description
Are you passionate about mechanics and eager to start a career in a hands-on technical field? Schlumberger is seeking a motivated Pumpjack Mechanic Trainee to join our dynamic team in Greensboro, NC. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn the intricacies of maintaining and troubleshooting pumpjack systems. You will receive comprehensive on-the-job training, working alongside experienced mechanics to develop the skills necessary for a successful career in the oil and gas services industry. This role requires dedication, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior mechanics with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of pumpjack units and associated equipment.
- Learn to identify mechanical issues and troubleshoot system malfunctions under supervision.
- Support routine preventative maintenance tasks, including lubrication, fluid checks, and component replacements.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures rigorously to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous learning initiatives.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in how machinery works.
- Ability to comprehend and follow technical instructions.
- Basic understanding of safety practices.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational or technical school certification in a mechanical or industrial field.
- Prior experience (personal or professional) with automotive repair, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical systems.
