Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospital Floor Assistant to join our team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. This role is crucial in supporting the smooth operation of our hospital floors, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients and staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that do not involve heavy lifting, focusing on patient support, light administrative duties, and maintaining ward tidiness. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff with non-clinical tasks to support patient comfort and well-being.
  • Transport patient records, specimens, and supplies within the hospital (no heavy items).
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of common areas, patient rooms, and utility rooms.
  • Answer patient call bells and relay messages to appropriate staff members.
  • Escort ambulant patients to various departments within the hospital.
  • Replenish stock levels for linen, stationery, and other ward supplies.
  • Assist with patient meal service, including distributing meals and assisting patients with eating if required (under supervision and no heavy lifting involved).
  • Provide general administrative support, such as filing and organizing documents.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and infection control policies.
