Job Description
Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of seniors? Home Instead in German Village, Columbus, OH, is seeking a Personal Caregiver to join our team for a consistent Monday to Friday schedule. This is an incredible opportunity to provide essential support and companionship to our clients, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes. Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, and conversation.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, tidying common areas, and changing bed linens.
- Assist with safe client transfers and mobility, using proper techniques and equipment.
- Provide medication reminders as directed by care plan.
- Run errands, such as grocery shopping or prescription pick-up, and assist with appointments.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition or behavior to the supervisory staff.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring client safety and well-being.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a caregiver or in a similar role (personal attendant, home health aide).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable demeanor.
- Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CNA certification or completion of a home health aide training program.
- Experience with dementia care or specialized care needs.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
