Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our data team at DreamWorks Animation. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable BI solutions that provide critical insights into our operations, creative processes, and audience engagement. You will work closely with various departments, transforming complex data into actionable intelligence, and helping to drive strategic decision-making across the company. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand data needs, and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform data modeling, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all BI platforms.
- Maintain and support existing BI infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal performance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data governance, data quality, and BI best practices.
- Document technical specifications, data flows, and report designs.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Strong experience with at least one major BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik Sense).
- Experience in designing and developing ETL processes.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data marts.
- Excellent analytical and and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse).
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python for data manipulation and automation.
- Experience in the media or entertainment industry.
- Knowledge of advanced analytical techniques or machine learning concepts.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
