Job Description

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for video games and an eye for detail? Electronic Arts is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Quality Assurance team through our New Grad Program for 2024. As a QA Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and overall player experience of our upcoming game titles. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans and test cases thoroughly to identify bugs, glitches, and usability issues across various platforms.
  • Document and report defects clearly and concisely, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results using internal bug tracking systems.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, designers, and other QA testers to understand game features and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Provide constructive feedback on game features, mechanics, and overall player experience.
  • Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure previously identified issues remain resolved.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, contributing to an agile development process.
  • Learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and testing methodologies specific to game development.

Required Skills

  • Recent graduate (within the last 12 months) with a degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated passion for video games and a strong understanding of various game genres.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using gaming consoles, PCs, and mobile devices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with game testing through personal projects, game jams, or volunteer work.
  • Understanding of different testing methodologies (e.g., functional, regression, performance).
  • Familiarity with agile development processes.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, C#) is a bonus.
